Hey there !!
For my very first review, I’d like to talk about It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover.
You’ve probably seen it all over Bookstagram or BookTok—there’s no escaping it!
My thoughts:
Impossible to put this book down once I started it. Colleen Hoover’s writing is smooth, enjoyable, and it flows so effortlessly. You’re pulled into the story right from the start.
The story itself is incredibly well-constructed. I’ve read my fair share of cliché books where you can guess the ending from a mile away, but this one? It took me through a rollercoaster of emotions.
I absolutely loved Lily. She’s strong and courageous, and her journey truly moved me. This was the first book I’ve read that tackled the subject of domestic abuse, and as I followed Lily through the story, I found myself understanding her choices and hesitations.
We often think we know exactly what we’d do in her situation, but wow, was I wrong. Being in her head gives you a completely different perspective. You feel her internal battle—stay or leave, follow your heart or your mind… It really opened my eyes to the struggles so many women, unfortunately, face.
Huge shoutout to Atlas—I adored his character. He’s just so sweet and caring.
And can we talk about the letters to Ellen? Some people found those parts a bit long, but honestly, I loved them. They flew by for me!
All in all, this book was an emotional punch in the gut in the best way possible. 💕
Ps: The movie wasn’t that bad.
